This Fish wants an Elephant

We know human developments reached a plateau when I read a research about how a scientist found out that as a female fish get older it readily accept male fishes with physical inadequacies. Like one fin shorter than the other, fading of colours and maybe even a pitifully short tail. Instead of spending 2 years of her life on this research, the scientist should have just taken me out for lunch and still get the same results. I mean I am no fish but I know what a female fish thinks. Maybe I should extrapolate that research, I can conclude that fish think like human. My first nobel prize for er, effort in major scientic discovery. For all you know humans can then proceed to mate with fish because we think alike. Wow. Mermaids.

Females, human females, when we get older, frankly the pool of males whom we can potentially date, shrinks. We start to put aside behaviours, features which we previously can't stand. We start to be glad that a man who still has hair on his head, no matter how little, asks us out on a date to the science park. When you are 25, the spinch struck on your date's front would not get him a second date. Ever. When you are 35, you would think that that spinch is not going to be a permanent fixture. When you are 45, you smile to yourself and thank god that he still has his front teeth. At 55, you are just glad that he remembered to put on his front teeth.

I don't think that we get more desperate as we age ( I think there is like a optimal desperation, after a certain age, the desperation level will fall) rather, we are more tolerant and realised that we rather wake up to a shiny egg headed partner than to come back to an empty home. For some of us, the calling of being a biological mother will be hard to ignore, some want to snare a partner before our bodily bits start heading south, some just want to love and be loved. My Best Friend says if she fails to get married by 35, she is going to try a one night stand with the cutest guy on the dancefloor and hopefully produce a kid 9 months later.

From a fish's point of view, her mission in life is to pro-create. So that we can have our sushi. The female fish will take a handicapped male cos the urge to create is so strong. As a human (quirky one, but nonetheless still one), I think it is nice to grow old with someone, to hold each other's withered arms, to look into each other's jaded eyes and to give each other toothless grins.

And to tell each other , you haven't changed a bit since the day we met.

Wondering about your friend. Just take on a cute guy, but he may be dumb as a stump. Thus she has a dumb kid and frustrations as she tries to make this poor cute little dumbie into an A level graduate. Better to subscribe to a sperm donor.

Yep I think me and the missus have not changed a bit. *kof kof*
